Plain-language summary

OverFlow respects copyright. If you own content that's on OverFlow without your permission, you can ask us to take it down. If your content was removed by mistake, you can submit a counter-notice. Below is the formal process and what to include.

1. Our position

  • OverFlow respects copyright and content ownership.
  • Users are responsible for confirming they own or have permission to submit content.
  • Rights holders can report unauthorized content through the form below.
  • OverFlow may remove, disable, or restrict access to disputed content.
  • Users who repeatedly submit unauthorized content may be suspended or removed.
  • If your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice.

2. How to report unauthorized content

Send a notice to dmca@overflownetwork.app or use the online report form. To be actionable, a notice should include:
  • Your name and contact information.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you say is being infringed.
  • The OverFlow campaign or media URL — or enough information to locate it.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act for the copyright owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

3. Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notice via the counter-notice form or by emailing dmca@overflownetwork.app. A counter-notice should include:
  • Your name and contact information.
  • Identification of the removed content.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the content was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Consent to jurisdiction where legally appropriate.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.
OverFlow does not automatically restore content after a counter-notice — a person reviews each one.

4. Repeat infringers

OverFlow may suspend or remove users who repeatedly submit content they don't own or don't have permission to use.
